Yep, you read that right. We are leaving on a trip tomorrow, to spend New Years with our family. Christmas went pretty well. And the wedding turned out well. Leah and Ryan are a perfect couple, and I highly approve of Ryan.
So much to do. It is crazy around here. So far I have folded three baskets of laundry and there are still three more to go. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I have to pack for myself as well as for Sarah and Lydia. It is quite a task.
Well, I better go now. If I don't blog again before we leave, I wish you all a Happy New Years. God Bless.

Apple Pie
I am blogging. Yippee!!!!!! Hurray!!!!!!!!!
A lot has been going on since my last entry. So much to do and say. I'll start with today. I woke up this morning at 6:20 ( no Christmas break has not yet come to me, only to all of my other siblings ugh.) and did five pages of Science and a Math Test. I then did some work for my Great Books class and wrote about five hundred words for my paper, which still needs some massive attention before the week is out. Starting at one pm I started to work on four apple pies for my teachers at my Tuesday classes. It took a lot longer than I had expected. I thought I would be done at three by the latest and then beable to work on my paper, but know I was in the kitchen from 1 to 7:30 p.m only stopping for half and hour to eat dinner. The apple-pealer-corer-slicer wouldn't work so I had to peel and cut all the apples by hand ( this doesn't work so well when you are trying to work mass production). I also ran out of lemon juice and the pre-crusted pie pans were to small so my mom had to go out and get the deep dish, thankfully she was already out and about. Thanks Mom. Well I have just taken the last pie out of the oven now at 8 :30 pm.
Good News!!! Dan has now received the Army ROTC scholorship as well. The U of M only provided two four year ROTC scholarships a year. One of them is for a moderate level priced school and the highest honors one is for a more expensive school. Dan got the highest level the U of M offered, over the hundreds of others He was the top pick!!!!!!!! Way to go Dan!!! Please join in with us as we pray for Dan and the decision he now faces. He is now considering the Army option, because it will give him just about the exact same benefits, He will even still be going to the University of St. Thomas. He just has to decide what force he wants to go into. Army has way more options than the Marines ( that would be the field he would have gone into) and is land based, so that is a pro for Dan. He has to make a major decision in the next month or so. Thanks for your consideration.
During my devotions yesterday I came upon these following verses:

During my devotions yesterday I came upon these following verses:
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
I Thessalonian 5:14-22
Isn't that a great verse. I hit you right where you fall short the most. I know it did me. I was reading it last night, and could not get it out of my head. How often it is when I am not patient or kind or think of others when they need us most to uphold them. Wow.
On Sunday Uncle Dave talked about how we will be able to comprehend what is true or not just by believing in God's word and following it. It's amazing. Sometimes when others are so zealous for the Lord and we are not in the greatest of moods we are often quick to snip and pull another down. For me especially. These things need a lot of prayer and consideration.
Well, I have to go now. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Have a wonderful week.
praying always with all prayers and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to the end with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
Ephesians 6:18
Have a good night everyone and God Bless.

Life in General ( OR NOT!!!! )
December has come and with it my fourth cold this school year. I have been sick since Sunday and I can definitely tell you it is not fun. On Monday I woke up with no voice, which I probably wouldn't have minded to much if did not have a PRACTICE SPEECH COMPETITION THAT EVENING!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! My teacher was really nice, she was concerned that wouldn't be able to give my speech so she brought some medicine to our door for me. Thankfully I had half of my voice back by evening and was able to give it twice through periodic coughing spasm which brought my speech up a whole minute when it already needed some cutting. Tuesday morning was even worse. I had not slept more than three hours the night before, and had a full day of classes ( away from home ) from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I felt even worse and added to all of my other symptoms I became congested and had a fever the most of the day. Yesterday wasn't much better, but in the evening my dad went out and got me some Vicks Nyquill, that stuff really works. I am feeling quite a bit better today but am still a little achy. Down side, homeshoolers don't get days off.
Veering off that subject, It looks like we are going to have most of my dad's side of the family here for Christmas weekend, but not for Christmas but for my cousins wedding. So far we are going to have four extra women staying in our house form age 1 and some months to seventy something, and they're all family!!!! I am really excited.
Now to New Years. All of our guests are leaving on Christmas morning and we will be following them to Michigan for New Years, to have our last family get together with some of our new-soon-to-be extended family before my grandma's wedding.
Wow. There is sure a lot going on around here. You should hear my cousins side of the story, they even have more weddings. Well I have to go. God Bless.

St. Olaf Choir Concert
Everything is going pretty well around here. Last night my dad and I went to the St. Olaf Choir Concert with an older couple from our church and two of their friends. We had to leave our house at 3:50. Before the concert we went out for dinner at Cracker Barrel. There was a lot of traffic but we made it to the conert on time. The choir was so amazing. There were about 500 members in the choir and then they had a full orchestra. Tickets were only given to the alumni and we were very fortunate to know someone who was a alumi from that college and they gave us their extra tickets. This being a concert for the alumni, I believe I was the only kid in the place. Everyone was grayhaired and whenever a song ended there would be about of minute of coughing. It got to be kind of funny. The concert ended at about 9:30 and trying to be ahead of the game, we had left all of our coats in the car. We ran out to the car with out and jackets, it being only seven degrees. When we got there the car we were carpooling in wouldn't start. An hour after the concert was over we finally got the car jumped and we made it home as the clock struck twelve. All in all it was the best choir concert I have ever went to. I don't if I will ever be able to go to another choir concert again. Well, I have to go now. God Bless.
