Friday

Hey Everyone! Well, its pretty much been a typical Friday (what typical is I an not quite sure). All my school work is done and I have practiced and hour and half on the piano and it is not even 1:30!!!! I love being homeschooled.

Lord willing, tomorrow I will have my own bedroom after having to share one for the past three years. I am really excited!!!!!!!!!!! The girls are moving down the hall, and for a while Joben will be sharing with them, and later he will move in with Air Cadet.

The speech tournament went very well. Although I didn't place, I had a lot of fun, made a new friend, and have a lot of constructive criticism to work with to improve my speech for February. Oh, and at the next competition, I will, Lord willing, be competing in two different categories. It really all depends on if I memorize this other speech I am planning on, in time. It is a Cinderella story, where 'Cindy' does not get the prince, because she doesn't want to marry a guy who chops off heads. It is pretty funny and has a good moral so I am looking forward to doing it.

Well, there really isn't anymore to say. I think I will head down stairs and do my Saturday chorces (or however you spell it) so I can sleep in tomorrow and not have to worry about all the work. The I will probably go and take a nap. Oh, by the way, Numbers is on tonight!!!!!! God Bless,

Speech Tournament

Hey Everyone! Sarah, my mom, and I are leaving for our first speech competition this year!!!!!!! I will be performing the death scene from Little Woman and Sarah is competing in the Juniors competition with The Baggers Blessing. Please pray that all will go well at the competition and that I will keep my speech under 9 minutes 50 seconds (the limit is 10 min. but I don't want to get to close to that). We are kind of nervous so we could really appreciate your prayers. We will be gone all day, so maybe I'll update about it on Monday. Have a wonderful Saturday and Lord's Day. God Bless,

(by the way this is my 100th post)

A Jobenism

Hey Everyone! Here is a blurb from the discussion around the dinner table this evening. My dad gives us a fun quiz on different things such has political or theological to fun facts on family members while we sit around eating pizza. Today's topic was Aunt Mary Jo. The questions ranged from what school she spent the most years at to how old she was when she was married, and how long she has been married. While in a 'deep' discussion, this remark hushed the whole table:

Joben: I'm going to get married.

All of us: And who are you going to marry, Joben?

Joben: (After a long and intense thought, we know this because his eyes seem to be looking at nothing, and his face is very stern) Mom.

That's it for now folks. I hope you all had a Blessed Lord's Day. God Bless,

more about life

Hey Everyone! There hasn't been much going on this week. Cadet went back to college for his J-term class, and everything around here has pretty much settled back down to normal. One of my teachers, I have recently discovered, gave us an uncanny amount of homework for one week which would usually be a two week load. It is driving me bonkers, but I've been working hard and it is almost completed. I have a latin test to take which I am truly dreading, but thats about it.

Today I have quite a bit of laundry today, but if I keep on top of it, hopefully I won't be overwhelmed. I am reading this book at night that I will only let myself ready when I go to bed, so that I don't get caught up with it during the day and not do my duties. It is really hard to resist going upstairs to read the next chapter!! I have been heading up to bed at 8:30 just so I can read it, but, sadly, the early bedtime is not giving me more sleep, because I stay up late reading. My books will be done to night and then I will be woebegone once again. How sad. Hopefully my dad will take me driving to day, I really need to practice driving backwards because I have a behind the wheel on Monday and I'm supposed to learn to parallel part and ninety degree back in. It would be very nice to be a little more comfortable with the backing up. Well, the washer and dryer just beeped so duty calls. I hope you all have a beautiful and encouraging Lord's Day. God Bless,

Happy New Year!

Hey Everyone! I am going to have to keep this one short. I want to start out by wishing everyone a Happy New Year! We got back from MI on Friday night and went to a beutiful wedding for a lady at our church. Alyssa and I got to wear a flower because we were guest book attendants. My flower didn't want to behave itself, plus it made me want to sneeze all the time, but I lived. It was great. We all have finally finished with the stomach flu (Cadet got it the morning we were loading up the bus to leave so we had to postpone the trip for a day, but we lived, and entertained ourselves by going to a movie). I received and MP3 player for Christmas so that is pretty exciting. Now we all have colds, and Joben has probably contracted Fifth's Disease from my little cousin (it sounds terrible but it is pretty much a cold with a fever, and a rash that looks like someone has slapped you on both cheeks, lots of little kids get it and once you have it you can't get it again.) I took down the Christmas tree today (it is a fake one). Well, I have to go because Kookie is going to pick my up any minute now. I hope you all have a great week. God Bless,
