Hey Everyone!!!! Seeing that everyone seems to be in the story telling mood I have got one of my own that I once read somewhere and that has always stayed with me. Try reading to the end, you'll really get something out of it.
There was once a young girl who came down with a fatal desease. The doctor told her family that the only one who would be able to save this little girls life would be someone who had had the desease before and overcome it. Well, about two years before this occurance, this girl's brother had had the disease and overcame it. So they called the boy in, he was less then ten years old. The doctor took him into his office and told him that he was the only chance his sister had to live, and asked him if he would donate some of his blood to his sister. The boy looked at the ground for a few seconds and then looked the doctor in the eye and said, "Yes. Anything for my sister". The next day two children were wheeled into the hospital: one healthy and full of color, the other pale and fragile. As the children were hooked up to wires and the blood began to transfer the little boy looked at the doctor and asked, "Doctor, when am I going to die?"
Within those few seconds the day before that young boy had decided to lay his life down for his sister. He had not known what a simple procedure the blood transfer really was. That story really meant a lot to me. It reminded me of the Bible verse that says the best thing we can do for a friend is to give up our life for them.To think that a person so young would give up his life for his sister. What Love. God Bless.
