Thanksgiving Greetings: The Holidays are Here!

Hey Everyone! Life has been pretty busy around here. In one week I have baked six pies (four of them on Weds. for the our thanks giving meal at the cousins) Oh, I almost forgot, I know this is a day late, but...
Happy Thanksgiving!
There really hasn't been to much going on, just life that has been keeping us busy. I still feel like I am doing non-stop school, but I am getting used to it, and am not so hung up if I don't get everything done. The other day we were all sitting around the kitchen table eating dinner, Joben hadn't had a nap that day so he was really tired. He wanted to sit at the table in his booster seat, instead of the highchair so we let him. Well, we noticed that the fork was going up to his mouth slower and slower, and his eyes were kind of skwinty, it was really funny. Finally his head just kind of collapsed on the chair. My mom asked him if he wanted to go to bed, of course he said no and then went back to sleep. It was really hilarious because he wanted to stay awake so badly. Well, finally he gave in and was sleeping. So my dad, trying to have some fun, said, " So Dan..." (who wasn't at home, Joben goes crazy when Cadet #1 is home). His eye lids immediately went up, but it took a while for the eyes to open. When he saw that Cadet #1 wasn't home he immedeiately went to sleep. My mom got him out of his chair to take him to bed, and Joben right away went for the stool on the floor and laid his head down on it and went back to sleep. I guess you had to be there. It was really funny.
Oh, you might have noticed by my reference to Cadet #1, we now have two cadets in this household. David has joined the Civil Air Patrol, and now he is a cadet as well, now known as Cadet #2 or for you, the readers conveniance, Air Cadet (I just made that up). Congratulations, Air Cadet!!!!
I had my first behind the wheel on Monday (I know I have had my permit for six months already, but we are kind of behind). It went pretty well, in fact my instructor was a retired police officer after serving for thirty-five years. At one time we were going down a road, and he said, "Slow down, it's a cop." I thought this pretty funny because my dad always tells us to call the police officers because cop is disrespectful, and here this guy is calling them cops. It helped smooth the way for the rest of my lesson.
This week we are painting the living room and dining room, they are going to look pretty snazzy. Then new carpet next week as well as a new light fictsture. Almost everyone here is looking forward to going to Michigan for Christmas, so we can spend it with all the family. I can't wait, and then I'll be able to see little Maret too. Well, I better go. This has gotten pretty long, clearly I need to blog more, if only I could find the time. :) God Bless,
